about me
Minnesota | NL 15-2
I began playing club volleyball at Mizuno Northern Lights when I was 12 years old and have loved competing in a high-level environment ever since. Over the past several seasons I have progressed through the program, playing on 12-2, 13-2, 14-2, and currently the 15-2 team, where I continue to grow as both a player and teammate while competing against top national competition.
One of my favorite club highlights was earning back-to-back medals at both AAU Nationals and USAV Nationals. Those moments were especially meaningful because they reflected the commitment, teamwork, and preparation our team invested throughout the season.
I come from a very competitive athletic family, which has shaped the way I approach sports. My dad played in the NFL and was part of a Super Bowl championship team, and my mom played collegiate golf and later competed professionally. Growing up in that environment has taught me the importance of discipline, preparation, and pursuing excellence every day.
My goal is to continue developing my game and compete at the Division I collegiate level, where I can contribute to a strong team culture and continue improving as a player.
Amy utecht
My name is Amy Utecht, and I am from Lakeville, Minnesota. I am part of a family of six and have an identical twin sister, which has made competition and teamwork a natural part of my life.
Athletics have always been a big part of our family. My dad played in the NFL and was a member of a Super Bowl championship team, and my mom played collegiate golf before competing professionally. Their example has shaped my mindset toward sports—focusing on discipline, preparation, and enjoying the process of improving every day.
Volleyball is my primary sport and passion, but I also compete in beach volleyball with my twin sister Katriel and run track and field at Lakeville South High School and play beach volleyball in the summer, which helps improve my athleticism, endurance, and ball control.
Outside of sports, my life is centered around faith, music, and family. My faith in Jesus is very important to me, and I love singing, playing piano, and participating in Bible studies.
My goal is to play Division I collegiate volleyball, where I can compete at a high level while continuing to grow academically, athletically, and spiritually..
lakeville south hs
I play varsity volleyball at Lakeville South High School and have been part of the program since 7th grade. Competing in such a strong volleyball program has helped me grow as both a player and teammate.
One of my favorite highlights was helping our team win the state championship, which marked only the second state title in our school’s history. Being part of that championship team reinforced how important preparation, teamwork, and trust are to winning at a high level.
Growing up in a competitive athletic family has also influenced the way I approach sports. My parents have always emphasized work ethic, humility, and doing your best for your teammates. Those values continue to motivate me as I pursue my goal of competing at the Division I collegiate level.
